Preview and test
Test draft selections, constraints, commerce readiness, and supported visual bindings in Editor.
The current Configurator Preview loads the draft graph, renders choice controls, evaluates completeness and constraints, reports commerce and purchase status, and applies hydrated material and visibility bindings.
What the preview proves
- the loaded choices and values can drive local preview selection;
- constrained values become unavailable;
- completeness, validity, commerce, purchase, and visual status are visible;
- active
SET_MATERIALandSET_VISIBILITYbindings can be reconciled on the loaded model.
It does not prove that unsupported operations such as REPLACE_COMPONENT or SET_MODEL render in Editor. It also does not replace an API/storefront integration test.
Test a draft
- Open Preview after loading a product revision.
- Select every value at least once.
- Check the status layers and any validation messages.
- Confirm unavailable values are disabled by the authored constraints.
- Inspect Fired visual bindings and the viewport for supported effects.
- Clear or change selections repeatedly to verify that the visual baseline is restored.
Verify before publishing
- Test a complete valid and commerce-mapped selection.
- Test an incomplete selection.
- Test each constraint boundary.
- Test a valid but unmapped selection and confirm it remains selectable while purchase is blocked.
- Resolve the same selections through the API and compare revision, validity, availability, visual effects, and commerce state.
- Test unsupported visual operations in the actual storefront renderer.
